Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim described women as the heartbeat of family strength, the foundation of society, and a vital force driving national progress.
In a Facebook post to mark International Women’s Day today, he highlighted the quiet sacrifices, unwavering perseverance, and deep wisdom that women bring to build stronger families and a more prosperous nation.
He said women never tire of giving love and support to create a better tomorrow for those around them.
Personal Gratitude and National Recognition
Anwar shared a personal reflection, saying he deeply values the sacrifices made by women in his own life.
He singled out his wife Azizah and their children, who have been constant sources of strength, patience, and encouragement throughout his journey of public service.
The same resilience, he noted, shines through millions of women nationwide—mothers, wives, daughters, teachers, caregivers, and community leaders—who work tirelessly every day for their families and the country.
Call for Greater Appreciation
Anwar urged everyone to unite in recognising the immense role and contributions of women.
He called for continued respect, empowerment, and fair opportunities so women can keep playing their full part in moving the nation forward.
“You are the strength, hope and future of the country,” he concluded.
