DAP’s national organising secretary Khoo Poay Tiong has stated that no one has been authorised to represent the party in any political discussions with Bersatu.
Clarification on unauthorised approaches
He stressed that any such attempts are personal in nature and do not reflect the party’s official stance or policies.
This statement was issued following reports about a division chairman, Najmi Samsudin, who was quoted saying that several Bersatu leaders in Selangor had approached him.
Reports of interest from Bersatu members
Najmi was reported by Utusan Malaysia as saying he would facilitate the entry of many Selangor Bersatu leaders and members into DAP.
He suggested this move would help strengthen the party ahead of the next general election.
DAP’s approach to gaining support
Khoo, in a statement last night, emphasised that DAP’s efforts to win Malay support would never rely on persuading members of other parties to switch sides.
Instead, the party would continue to build support through its proven track record, dedication to public service, and commitment to its principles.
