DAP secretary-general Loke Siew Fook has pledged that the party will remain committed to its core principles. He promised to advocate for fairness and inclusivity throughout 2026. The party will continue serving with honesty and prioritise public interest in its decisions.
Focus on People’s Well-Being
Loke emphasised ensuring economic growth benefits the people’s well-being. He highlighted good governance, integrity, and policies based on real needs as key to a stronger future. DAP renews its resolve to pursue bolder changes and advance justice, freedom, and progress for all Malaysians.
Loke acknowledged the pressures Malaysians face from inflation and rising living costs. Businesses are also dealing with higher expenses. The government will introduce practical policies to ease these burdens.
Call for Responsible Politics
He urged a more responsible approach to politics focused on solving issues. Differences in a democratic society should not hinder cooperation on national interests. Politics must improve lives rather than create constant conflict and hostility.
Loke previously vowed to work closely with the prime minister. This follows DAP’s poor performance in the November Sabah state election. The party aims to accelerate reforms in the coming months.
