Iranian state media has released a striking propaganda video showcasing a large fleet of drones stationed inside an underground bunker.
Dramatic footage from Fars News
The semi-official Fars News Agency shared the clip, which features rows of unmanned aerial vehicles lined up on rocket launchers and truck beds.
Dramatic music accompanies the scenes as the camera moves along a brightly lit tunnel, with Iranian flags displayed prominently on both sides.
Cheaper Shahed drones, known for their low production cost of just a few thousand dollars each, are believed to be the main type featured in the footage.
Retaliatory strikes across the region
Iran has deployed these drones in retaliatory attacks across the Middle East, targeting US military bases in several neighbouring countries.
The strikes hit locations in Bahrain, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, and Kuwait following joint US-Israeli operations named Epic Fury and Lion Roar.
A drone attack on Kuwait’s Port Shuaiba killed six US service members from the Army Reserve’s 103rd Sustainment Command.
The identified casualties include Capt. Cody Khork, 35, from Florida, Sgt. 1st Class Noah Tietjens, 42, from Nebraska, Sgt. 1st Class Nicole Amor, 39, from Minnesota, and Sgt. Declan Coady, 20, from Iowa.
Heavy losses yet continued operations
The Iranian military suffered major setbacks in the initial joint strikes on Saturday, when Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and around 40 other senior officials were killed inside a fortified compound in central Tehran.
Despite the significant loss of leadership, Iran has persisted with launching drones and missiles.
Most of these weapons have been intercepted and destroyed by air defence systems of neighbouring countries.
On Wednesday, the Israel Defense Forces reported that an F-35I fighter jet, known locally as Adir or Mighty One in Hebrew, shot down a Russian-made Iranian YAK-130 jet.
Israeli military officials confirmed the aerial clash took place over Tehran.
