Mas Ermieyati Samsudin has announced her resignation as Melaka Perikatan Nasional chairman.
Step to facilitate restructuring
The Masjid Tanah MP said the move would give the new PN leadership, headed by chairman Ahmad Samsuri Mokthar, space to reorganise the state chapter.
This comes as preparations begin for the upcoming Melaka state election.
“I am ready to cooperate with Melaka PN to jointly offer the best for the state,” she wrote in a social media post just after midnight today.
Recent leadership changes
Last month, Mas Ermieyati stepped down as Masjid Tanah Bersatu chief.
She continues to serve as Wanita Bersatu chief.
She was among the Bersatu MPs who joined a solidarity rally for former Bersatu deputy president Hamzah Zainudin in Kuala Lumpur on February 14.
Hamzah had been sacked from the party the day before on February 13.
Her resignation follows a wave of similar moves by several other Bersatu division leaders.
They stepped down in recent days to protest Hamzah’s sacking and voice unhappiness with Muhyiddin Yassin’s leadership.
