Bersatu president Muhyiddin Yassin is in robust health and actively steering the party, according to secretary-general Azmin Ali, dispelling rumors sparked by a misleading social media post.
Speaking on Tuesday, Azmin confirmed regular communication with Muhyiddin, particularly as the party prepares for its annual general assembly scheduled for September 6-7 at the IDCC Convention Centre in Shah Alam.
His statement addressed a Facebook post last week by former Selangor Bersatu secretary Hasnizam Adham, which falsely claimed Muhyiddin was hospitalized due to poor health.
Azmin emphasized Muhyiddin’s vigor, noting that the president has been engaging with state and divisional members over the past six months to bolster preparations for the 16th General Election (GE16). “The president is in good health and full of energy. He is currently crafting a comprehensive keynote address for the general assembly,” Azmin told Utusan Malaysia. “He has no health issues and is ready to lead the party with renewed dynamism.”
The upcoming assembly will focus on GE16 preparations, serving as a critical platform to evaluate Bersatu’s performance, enhance grassroots training, and strengthen strategic alliances within Perikatan Nasional.
