The Sumbangan Asas Rahmah (SARA) programme saw overwhelming response on its first day yesterday, with 850,000 recipients spending more than RM50 million as of 9.30 pm.
In a statement, the Finance Ministry said the surge in transactions caused congestion and slower performance on the MyKasih network in several locations.
However, all transactions were still received and processed successfully.
“To ensure smoother operations moving forward, the ministry is working with MyKasih to increase system capacity and will carry out maintenance work to stabilise operations,” the statement added.
The ministry also apologised for the inconvenience caused and stressed that close monitoring would continue to ensure the initiative runs smoothly for the benefit of the people.
