A tragic incident occurred in Senawang, Negeri Sembilan, where a 10-year-old Year Four pupil was found unconscious at his primary school on Wednesday (Sept 24) and later confirmed dead at the hospital.
Negeri Sembilan police chief Datuk Alzafny Ahmad said a report was received at 1.19pm, and officers were dispatched to the scene.
“Preliminary information indicates the child left his classroom at around 12.10pm before being found unconscious. He was rushed to the hospital but was later confirmed dead,” he said.
Alzafny said police will not comment further until investigations are complete, and an official statement will be issued soon.
Education Minister Fadhlina Sidek, who visited the boy’s family, expressed her condolences and deep sadness over the tragedy.
“The Education Ministry will fully cooperate with police investigations and provide emotional and social support to the family. We urge the public to avoid speculation and respect the family’s privacy,” she said.
She added that psychosocial interventions for students and teachers at the school would begin tomorrow, led by school counsellors, to ensure their emotional well-being.
“School activities will proceed as usual, but psychosocial support will continue to help the school community cope with the loss,” she said.
