Former Negri Sembilan menteri besar Aminuddin Harun has criticised 10 former state executive councillors for suing the state government, describing the move as “the government suing itself”.
Aminuddin, who led the state government for two terms, said such a situation had never occurred in Malaysia’s history.
‘Government suing itself’
“I was shocked today to learn that 10 former Negri Sembilan exco members had filed a suit against the state government, their own government, seeking costs from the government.
“This has never happened before. Many people are wondering what is happening and have contacted me about it.
“I don’t know how this could happen or who advised them, but it has ultimately led to developments that should have been resolved earlier,” he said in a video posted on Facebook yesterday.
Call to accept election outcome
The Port Dickson MP said he believed all parties had accepted the outcome of the state election, in which Barisan Nasional and Perikatan Nasional secured a two-thirds majority to form the state government.
He said all parties, including Pakatan Harapan and Bersatu, should accept the result and give the new government room to carry out its administrative responsibilities.
“I accept it, my friends in PH accept it, and my friends in Bersatu also accept the defeat and the fact that they (BN-PN) secured a two-thirds majority to form a strong government.
“They should be able to govern more smoothly and help develop the state and improve the well-being of the people of Negri Sembilan,” he said.
Warning over prolonged crisis
However, Aminuddin said the crisis in the state had continued into October, with the ongoing developments ultimately detrimental to Negri Sembilan and its people.
