Barisan Nasional (BN) has submitted a list of candidates to be considered for minister and deputy minister posts in the new Sabah state cabinet.
BN chairman Ahmad Zahid Hamidi confirmed this, saying the state government had asked all supporting parties to put forward their respective candidates for consideration.
He was commenting on BN’s performance in the Sabah state election yesterday.
Ahmad Zahid, who is also deputy prime minister, stressed that the priority now is to ensure political stability in Sabah so that the state’s development can continue, including plans involving electricity supply, water and road infrastructure.
“For the Sabah state election, the formation of the state government will be done as soon as possible. We appreciate the cooperation among various parties, including Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS), which has been going well.
“In fact, I have personally contacted the new chief minister Hajiji Noor, as well as Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim, to help stabilise politics in Sabah,” he said after attending a briefing on the flood situation in Bagan Datuk today.
“What matters most is the well-being of the people and the full implementation of the Sabah Maju Jaya vision,” he added.
Following the 17th Sabah state election, Ahmad Zahid had said BN was prepared to work with like-minded parties to form the new state government to ensure political stability.
