Bhumjaithai Party’s “Anutin 2” government is poised to command 292 seats in the House of Representatives, following the finalisation of a coalition deal after the February 8, 2026 general election.
The coalition excludes the Kla Tham Party, Democrat Party and Thai Ruamphalang Party, drawing support from Pheu Thai Party, Palang Pracharath Party, Prachachart Party and several smaller parties.
Bhumjaithai Party is set to secure 26 ministerial posts across 14 ministries. These include the Interior Ministry, Defence Ministry, Transport Ministry, Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, Ministry of Digital Economy and Society, Ministry of Tourism and Sports, Industry Ministry, Foreign Affairs Ministry, Finance Ministry, Commerce Ministry, Energy Ministry, Justice Ministry, Culture Ministry, and a minister attached to the Prime Minister’s Office.
Pheu Thai Party will receive nine posts, while Palang Pracharath gets one.
Anutin’s key picks and party nominees
At a Bhumjaithai Party MP seminar on March 8, 2026, the executive committee presented a list of suitable candidates for ministerial roles to party leader Anutin Charnvirakul.
The list exceeded the available cabinet seats, giving Anutin discretion to select names before submission to the Secretariat of the Cabinet for vetting by nine agencies.
Anutin’s personal quota covers five positions: Anutin Charnvirakul as Prime Minister and Minister of Defence, Ekniti Nitithanprapas as Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance, Sihasak Phuangketkeow as Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Suphajee Suthumpun as Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Commerce, and Borwornsak Uwanno as Deputy Prime Minister.
From the “big house” faction, nominees include Songsak Thongsri, Phiphat Ratchakitprakarn, Chaichanok Chidchob, Surasak Phancharoenworrakul, Sabida Thaised, Paradorn Prissananantakul, Suchart Chomklin, Akanat Promphan, Varawut Silpa-archa, Supamas Isarabhakdi, Napinthorn Srisappang and Pattana Promphat.
Long-time loyalists named are Jeseth Thaised (MP, Uthai Thani), Siripong Angkasakulkiat (MP, Si Sa Ket), Boonthida Somchai (MP, Ubon Ratchathani), Worasit Liangprasit (MP, Satun), Phattrapong Phattraprasit (MP, Phichit) and Suksomrauy Wanthaniyakun (MP, Amnat Charoen).
Leadership roles in parliament
The position of Speaker of the House is expected to go to Sophon Saram.
The First Deputy Speaker post is allocated to Bhumjaithai Party, with southern MPs tasked to agree on a candidate.
The Second Deputy Speaker position remains undecided.
