Former Parti Solidariti Tanah Airku (STAR) deputy president Ellron Alfred Angin has joined Parti Gagasan Rakyat Sabah, along with several former party leaders and grassroots members from Sook, Nabawan and Tulid.
Ellron, who is a former state youth and sports minister, submitted his membership application to Gagasan Rakyat’s Pensiangan chief Abdul Ghani Yassin after the division’s committee meeting yesterday, Daily Express reported.
Ellron has since been appointed as a committee member of the Pensiangan division.
Move strengthens party in Pensiangan
Ghani said Ellron’s entry, together with that of former STAR grassroots leaders, would strengthen Gagasan Rakyat in Pensiangan ahead of the 16th general election (GE16).
He said the division had established coordinating committees at the state constituency level and was setting up branches based on polling district centres.
The move is aimed at streamlining the division’s administrative machinery and preparations for GE16.
