Malaysian comedian and restaurateur Nigel Ng, better known worldwide as Uncle Roger, tied the knot with Miami-born lawyer and longtime best friend Sabrina Ahmed in a grand three-day celebration in Sintra, Portugal.
According to Vogue, the wedding blended Chinese, Bengali and Western traditions, featuring a sunset cruise, sangeet, tea ceremony and a grand reception.
The bride explained their choice of venue: “In Portugal’s aesthetic, we saw ourselves. Its blue-and-white azulejos, inspired by Chinese porcelain and echoing Rajasthani and Moorish motifs, perfectly reflect our heritage.”
The couple wore four symbolic outfits across the events, using fashion and jewellery to narrate their love story.
They first met through a dating app and finally in person at Boston Airport on November 11, 2022, when their flights landed at the exact same time.
By March 2023, Ng was convinced she was “the one,” proposing a year later under cherry blossoms in Tokyo.
Announcing the marriage on Facebook, Ng joked: “Now someone please help my uncle find a wife.” His post received over 2,000 congratulatory messages.
