Cristiano Ronaldo, 40, and Georgina Rodríguez, 31, have confirmed their engagement, ending months of speculation. Rodríguez shared the news on Instagram on Monday, posting a photo of a dazzling diamond ring with the caption: “Yes I do. In this and in all my lives.”
The couple, who met in 2016, had been the subject of rumours for years. Reports suggested that despite Rodríguez wearing diamond rings before, it wasn’t official until now. Last month, she sparked fresh talk by sharing images from a bridal-themed celebration, white floral displays, and a live band.
Friends and celebrities flooded the comments with congratulations. Lauren Sanchez Bezos wrote, “So happy for you,” WAG Taylor Ward said, “Amazing, congratulations,” and beauty mogul Charlotte Tilbury called it “fabulous news.” Broadcaster Piers Morgan added: “Wonderful news! Many congrats to you both.”
Ronaldo had previously addressed marriage in his Netflix series: “I always tell her, ‘when we get that click.’ It could be in a year, six months, or a month. I’m 1000% sure it’ll happen.”
They share two daughters, Alana (7) and Bella (2), with Rodríguez also being stepmother to Ronaldo’s three other children. The family currently lives in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, where Ronaldo plays for Al-Nassr.
