PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang has expressed confidence that the party can form the state governments of Selangor, Perak and Pahang in the 16th general election (GE16).
Speaking at PAS’ 71st annual muktamar today, Hadi said: “The next victories are expected to come from Pahang, Perak, and Selangor.”
He stressed that PAS must defend its current strongholds of Kelantan, Terengganu, Kedah and Perlis while pushing forward its Islamic agenda.
The former Terengganu menteri besar also urged PAS’ youth and women’s wings to expand beyond their traditional voter bases to attract support from fringe groups, including non-Muslims open to the party’s Islamic values.
“Mobilise programmes that transcend political and racial boundaries, highlight voices that guide the younger generation,” he said, adding this was crucial for PN’s success in GE16.
Hadi also reiterated his call to “return to Islam as the solution”, criticising Western secular systems as materialistic, unjust, and incapable of solving social breakdown.
“Western civilisation has failed as it corrupts all aspects of life by deviating from the natural order,” said the seven-term Marang MP.
