Sabah Chief Minister Hajiji Noor has called on Malaysians to embrace the true essence of Malaysia Day, celebrating it with fervent patriotism and a deep love for the nation.
In his Malaysia Day address on September 16, 2025, Hajiji emphasized the importance of preserving unity and harmony among Malaysia’s diverse, multiracial, and multi-religious population. Speaking in Kota Kinabalu, he urged citizens to uphold the spirit of togetherness in this cherished land.
Hajiji highlighted September 16 as a sacred milestone, commemorating the formation of Malaysia as a sovereign and independent nation. “This historic day must remain etched in our collective memory,” he declared.
“The establishment of Malaysia has brought countless blessings and benefits to all segments of society,” he said, acknowledging the nation’s achievements. However, he cautioned that the path of nation-building remains arduous, fraught with challenges that demand resilience and solidarity. “Only through unity, cohesion, and a shared commitment to our homeland can we surmount these obstacles,” he stressed.
The Chief Minister called on Malaysians to rally behind this year’s Malaysia Day theme, “Malaysia Madani: Rakyat Disantuni,” which underscores the government’s dedication to the people’s welfare, rooted in the principles of Malaysia Madani. He noted that the theme aligns seamlessly with Sabah’s development vision, “Hala Tuju Sabah Maju Jaya,” which prioritizes the well-being of citizens, justice, unity, and equitable progress across all communities.
