Former Bersatu deputy president Hamzah Zainudin has called on leaders and elected representatives at all levels who joined the ‘Reset’ movement to put its ideals into practice.
Hamzah, who serves as the opposition leader, described “Reset” as a starting point for correction and improvement, aimed at rebuilding collective strength for a clearer national future.
“The responsibility now lies with all comrades in the struggle—whether at the division level, in the state assembly, in Parliament, or at every level of the organisation—to turn the vision of ‘Reset’ into concrete action,” he said in a Facebook statement today.
Last Friday, the Larut MP was expelled from Bersatu alongside three other MPs and two state assemblymen following a decision by the party’s disciplinary board.
A day after his expulsion, Hamzah attended a “Reset” gathering at the Universiti Malaya Alumni Association (PAUM) Clubhouse, which was attended by 19 Bersatu and former Bersatu MPs.
Hamzah clarified that “Reset” is not merely a slogan or a show of support for a particular individual, but a move that requires courage and dedication to effect change.
He also expressed his deep appreciation to the event’s organiser, Bersatu vice president Datuk Dr Ronald Kiandee, and other representatives from NGOs who were present.
“This proves that the values of this struggle cannot be obstructed by any party. In the end, ‘Reset’ is for religion, race, and the country,” he added.
