Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang has sold approximately $36.4 million worth of company stock, according to a filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). The transaction involved 225,000 shares.
The sale is part of a prearranged trading plan adopted in March, allowing Huang to sell up to six million Nvidia shares by year’s end. In June, he made the first sale under this plan, totaling about $15 million.
Last year, Huang sold roughly $700 million in stock through a similar arrangement.
Despite these sales, Huang’s wealth has soared, driven by investor confidence in Nvidia’s leadership in AI chips and GPU technologies. Bloomberg’s Billionaires Index reports that his net worth has increased by over $29 billion since January 2025, now estimated at $143 billion—closely trailing Warren Buffett’s $144 billion.
A Fortune analysis released Friday morning even showed Huang temporarily surpassing Buffett, with a net worth of $143.7 billion compared to Buffett’s $142.1 billion.
Nvidia itself reached a historic milestone this week, becoming the first company to surpass a $4 trillion market capitalization. The Santa Clara-based chipmaker closed above that level on Thursday, amid reports of meetings between Nvidia executives and U.S. President Donald Trump.
Huang continues to hold more than 858 million shares in Nvidia, both directly and via trusts and partnerships.
Separately, SEC filings show that Nvidia board member and NEA venture partner Brooke Seawell sold approximately $24 million in Nvidia shares. Seawell has been on the board since 1997.
