Transport Minister Anthony Loke announced that all public transport services, including KTMB and Prasarana stations, will operate as usual on July 26, 2025.
He said the Madani government upholds the right to freedom of assembly, even for those who do not align with the government, adding, “We cannot return to an era where democracy was suppressed and even Parliament was shut down.”
Loke stressed that public transport must continue functioning so the majority of people can carry out their weekend activities without being disrupted by opposition gatherings.
He also reminded travelers to Kuala Lumpur that the MY50 monthly pass can now be renewed online through the Touch N’ Go app. Each pass is valued at RM150, but users only pay RM50 while the government subsidizes RM100.
For first-time visitors to Kuala Lumpur, the MyCity Pass offers unlimited rides on LRT, MRT, BRT, Monorail, and Rapid buses for just RM6 a day, with plans to digitize the pass by the end of the year.
Loke encouraged rally participants to use public transport to minimize traffic congestion in the city.
