A 72-year-old housewife from Penang has become the latest Supreme Toto 6/58 jackpot winner, taking home RM40.1 million with a “lucky pick” ticket.
The woman, who has been playing Toto since the 1980s, shared that she makes it a habit to buy her ticket at a nearby outlet whenever she does her grocery shopping on draw days.
Sleepless night leads to early check
She recalled struggling to sleep on the night of the recent draw and feeling an urge to check her ticket first thing the next morning.
“When I checked the numbers one by one and realised they all matched, I could hardly believe it,” she said in a press release issued by STM Lottery Sdn Bhd.
“I am grateful and will continue living a simple life.”
Besides the jackpot, her ticket also won an additional RM173,152 in bonus prize money.
No big plans, focus on family and stability
The winner and her husband said they have no immediate grand plans for the winnings and intend to handle the money with care.
“We are thankful for the big ang pow before Chinese New Year,” her husband said.
“We do not have any big plans as my wife only plays the game for fun.”
He added that the couple plans to share part of the prize with family members and place the remainder in savings and fixed deposits to secure long-term financial stability.
