Saifuddin Abdullah will face Bersatu’s disciplinary board after demanding Muhyiddin Yassin’s resignation as party president and Perikatan Nasional chairman.
The Indera Mahkota MP confirmed he received a notice today for a 4.40pm meeting on Thursday.
“I requested an earlier slot at 2pm due to an evening commitment outside Kuala Lumpur. The board agreed,” he said in a short statement tonight.
Saifuddin launched his criticism in media interviews and a joint statement with several Bersatu division leaders.
He has already been stripped of his role as Perikatan Nasional’s Pahang chief.
Bersatu Youth demanded swift action, accusing Saifuddin of “malicious intent to harm the party”.
Youth information chief Harris Idaham Rashid said Saifuddin should quit if he no longer trusts the president.
Saifuddin claimed Muhyiddin has “lost his leadership quality” and is not the figure he once respected.
He also urged senior leaders Azmin Ali and Tun Faisal Ismail Aziz to step down.
The former foreign minister pressed Muhyiddin to address reports of his son-in-law, fugitive businessman Adlan Berhan, fleeing abroad amid photos showing a lavish lifestyle overseas.
