
A 3.2-magnitude earthquake struck Segamat, Johor, this morning, marking the second seismic event in the region in less than a week, according to the Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia). The quake, recorded at 18km south of Segamat at a depth of 10km, caused tremors felt in parts of Johor and southern Pahang.
MetMalaysia stated that it is closely monitoring the situation for further developments.
This follows two earthquakes reported in Johor on Sunday. The first, a 4.1-magnitude quake, hit Segamat at 6:13 a.m., while a 2.8-magnitude tremor struck Kluang around 9 a.m. Tremors from these events were felt across Johor, Negeri Sembilan, Melaka, and Pahang.
No casualties or property damage have been reported in connection with any of the recent quakes.
