Singapore has once again been named the safest country in the world, marking the 12th time since 2006, according to Gallup’s Global Safety Report released on Thursday.
In 2024, 98% of Singaporeans said they felt safe walking alone at night — one of the highest figures Gallup has recorded globally, reflecting the nation’s long-standing reputation for safety.
The survey also revealed near-identical safety perceptions between genders: 98% of men and 97% of women reported feeling safe at night in 2024.
Gallup attributed Singapore’s top ranking to its low crime rates, effective law enforcement, and strong public order.
