A photo with US President Donald Trump will cost Republican donors an additional $88,600 at a Republican National Committee (RNC) fundraising event in Dallas next week.
The RNC is holding two events in Dallas on Sept 9 and 10 as part of a midterm convention. Trump and Vice President JD Vance are scheduled to appear at roundtables and deliver keynote addresses.
Each event comes with a hefty price tag, according to The Wall Street Journal, which reported the details on Tuesday.
Photo with Trump costs $88,600
According to an RNC invitation seen by the newspaper, entry to the Sept 9 event featuring Trump costs $250,000.
Donors who want to have their photo taken with Trump must pay an additional $88,600.
The following day, attending the event featuring Vance costs $75,000, while a photo with the vice president costs $35,000.
The Daily Beast contacted the RNC and the White House for comment.
Texas Senate race adds pressure
The Texas fundraiser comes as Democratic Senate candidate James Talarico has significantly outraised Republican candidate Ken Paxton, the state’s attorney general.
According to The Wall Street Journal, Talarico has raised $68 million compared with Paxton’s $9 million. Several election forecasters consider the race a toss-up.
Four other Senate races involving Republican-held seats are also considered battlegrounds: Alaska, Iowa, Ohio and Maine.
In some states, early voting is scheduled to begin later this month.
MAGA Inc. holds more than $400 million
Meanwhile, the Trump-aligned super PAC MAGA Inc. has more than $400 million available to spend during the midterm elections.
More than $800,000 was spent last month to help South Carolina Senator Lindsey Graham advance to the general election, a move that surprised his primary opponent, Representative Ralph Norman.
MAGA Inc. has not publicly announced spending plans targeting Democrats, prompting some Republicans to express concern about Texas in particular.
“They keep saying they’ll spend, but they haven’t,” a senior Republican source told CNN.
MAGA Inc. spokesperson Alex Pfeiffer told CNN that the super PAC “will be hosting events throughout the nation” ahead of the midterms.
However, it has not announced any events in Texas to date.
