Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim today confirmed that US President Donald Trump will attend the ASEAN Summit scheduled for October.
Anwar said he received confirmation of Trump’s attendance during a phone call with the US president this morning.
Earlier this month, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio had hinted that Trump may attend the regional summit.
Anwar also announced that a new tariff rate for Malaysia will be revealed tomorrow.
“God willing, it will not burden our economy,” he said while tabling the 13th Malaysia Plan in the Dewan Rakyat.
