Umno Youth chief Muhamad Akmal Saleh says his resignation from the Melaka state executive council will not weaken his political fight.
Instead, it will create hundreds of thousands of new Umno leaders like him.
He made the remarks winding up his speech at the Umno Youth annual assembly.
Countering Panic Reactions
Some reacted nervously to his exco exit, fearing full-time attacks on opponents.
“When I announced my resignation as an exco member, many people panicked, thinking I would become full-time in going after them,” Akmal said.
“But let me say this – when Akmal Saleh resigns as an exco member, God willing, I will produce another 300,000 Akmal Salehs to go after them instead.”
Vow to Fight DAP
Akmal earlier announced stepping down as Melaka state executive councillor.
He vowed to fight DAP “to the very end”.
