Barisan Nasional (BN) today launched its manifesto for the Johor state election, outlining 63 pledges built on six key pillars aimed at maintaining stability and driving the state’s continued development.
The manifesto, themed ‘Maju Johor, Kestabilan Dikekalkan, Kemajuan Diteruskan’ (Advancing Johor, Stability Preserved, Progress Continued), was formulated based on the coalition’s experience in governing Johor over the past four years.
The six pillars focus on governance, economic development, social welfare, basic amenities and essential needs, security, cleanliness and environmental sustainability, as well as youth development.
Focus on jobs, housing and business
Johor BN chairman Onn Hafiz Ghazi said the coalition’s administrative experience and achievements formed the foundation of the manifesto.
“Drawing on that experience and track record of achievements, I am introducing the Barisan Nasional Johor Manifesto, which outlines 63 pledges anchored on six Johor Progress Pillars,” he said in a statement.
Among the key commitments is the creation of 200,000 new jobs, including 100,000 premium-income positions for Johor youths through quality investments, high-technology industries and the expansion of strategic economic sectors.
BN also pledged to strengthen the Bantuan Kasih Johor programme with more targeted assistance and introduce a Rental Deposit Payment Scheme to help Johoreans below the age of 35 cover the initial cost of renting a home.
To improve home ownership, the coalition promised to establish a RM100 million fund to assist low-income families in building Johor Subsidised Houses on their own land, including second-generation Felda lots. Existing housing assistance schemes will also continue to help families move from renting to owning homes.
For businesses, BN pledged to waive first-year business licence fees for hawkers and small traders, while providing an additional RM100 million in interest-free microfinancing through financial institutions.
The manifesto also includes measures to strengthen micro, small and medium enterprises through business matching programmes, vendor development, capability training and digitalisation.
Education and social initiatives
In education, BN pledged to allocate RM100 million to strengthen the Johor Youth Education Fund to expand access to higher education, technical and vocational education and training (TVET), professional certification and future-ready skills programmes.
The coalition also committed to continuing the RM200 Johor Youth Student Incentive for students enrolled in public higher education institutions, polytechnics and community colleges.
Among its social initiatives, BN pledged to introduce the Semarak Isya’ programme in every state constituency as a continuation of the Semarak Subuh Johor programme to further revitalise mosques and suraus.
Balanced development
Onn Hafiz said Johor’s development should balance economic growth, public welfare and the strengthening of societal values.
He said the manifesto was not merely a collection of promises, but was built on the coalition’s administrative experience, proven track record and commitment to delivering greater progress for Johor.
