Google has rolled out new AI memberships in Malaysia — Google AI Plus, Pro and Ultra — with monthly prices ranging from RM23.99 to RM1,229.90 on a rolling basis, positioning the plans against OpenAI’s ChatGPT subscriptions.
The entry-level Google AI Plus drops to RM11.99 per month on a six-month sign-up and includes access to the Gemini app, Flow video generation and 200 monthly AI credits.
The Google AI Pro plan is RM97.99 per month and comes with a free six-month trial, unlocking NotebookLM, Flow and Gemini integration across Docs, Vids and Gmail.
For power users, Google AI Ultra costs RM614.90 when signing up for three months, featuring the Gemini 2.5 Pro model and higher limits for creative tools.
Google said the memberships aim to enhance creativity, productivity and research for individuals and businesses. University students are offered a free Pro subscription for one year to encourage AI adoption in education.
The launch follows OpenAI’s expansion of ChatGPT plans in Malaysia, which start at RM38.99 per month. ChatGPT’s top tier costs RM999.90 monthly, with extended access to GPT-5, image generation and advanced reasoning tools.
