The upcoming “Turun Anwar” rally this Saturday reflects Perikatan Nasional’s (PN) failure to offer constructive alternatives to their claim that the government has failed to manage the economy, said Muhammad Kamil Abdul Munim, political secretary to the finance minister.
He said current figures and reports show that Malaysia’s economy is steadily recovering and growing, proving that PN’s accusations are baseless.
“Growth, inflation, unemployment rates, investment volumes – all are being demonised out of hatred and greed.
“These figures show clearly that they cannot counter or propose alternatives to the good policies we’ve implemented,” said Kamil, who is also the Angkatan Muda Keadilan (AMK) chief, in a post on X today.
Kamil stressed that while national leaders are working hard to develop the country, the opposition has chosen the path of conflict and has yet to present any candidate to replace Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim.
He also emphasized that the MADANI government respects freedom, particularly the right to peaceful assembly, and the prime minister has assured there will be no intimidation from the authorities.
“However, rallying merely out of hatred for Anwar Ibrahim reflects weak, shallow and inept politics, especially when compared to our agility in fulfilling the people’s wishes,” Kamil said.
