Segambut Bersatu deputy chief Adam Radlan Adam Muhammad, who is being sought by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) to assist investigations into the MEX II highway project, is believed to be overseas.
MACC chief commissioner Azam Baki said the agency will work with the Immigration Department to track his whereabouts.
“We will initiate cooperation with Immigration soon. The most important thing is locating his whereabouts,” he said when contacted.
Azam urged Adam to return immediately to assist the investigation.
In August, Adam was acquitted of 12 corruption and money laundering charges linked to the Jana Wibawa project.
This followed the Attorney-General’s Chambers accepting his representation and confirming he had settled a RM4.1 million compound under the Anti-Money Laundering, Anti-Terrorism Financing and Proceeds of Unlawful Activities Act.
The MEX II project is also being probed by MACC.
