The Pahang UMNO Liaison Committee held a meeting last night, focusing on three key issues: preparations for the upcoming Sabah state election (PRN), readiness for potential floods, and the latest developments regarding former prime minister Najib Razak.
Committee chairman and Pahang Menteri Besar Wan Rosdy Wan Ismail stated that the meeting conveyed gratitude to His Royal Highness Sultan Abdullah of Pahang for consenting and confirming the “Titah Addendum” to allow Najib to serve his sentence under house arrest.
“This royal consent was further clarified in an official letter from His Majesty to Mohd Nizar Najib, vice-chief of UMNO Pekan and Najib’s son, dated 2 December 2024,” he said.
The letter, he added, indirectly validated affidavits previously submitted in court by UMNO president Ahmad Zahid Hamidi and himself, which had been dismissed as hearsay but are now supported by the addendum.
“With the prosecution acknowledging the existence of the addendum, Pahang UMNO believes it should be implemented,” Wan Rosdy said.
He reiterated support for the joint statement by 160 UMNO division chiefs nationwide urging the prime minister to enforce the addendum.
Wan Rosdy also expressed appreciation to Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim for his openness and willingness to discuss the matter to reach the best resolution.
Additionally, the meeting reviewed early measures to face the monsoon season and planned party machinery strategies to support the upcoming Sabah PRN campaign.
