Perodua has reduced the price of its Axia by up to RM4,700, with the revised pricing taking effect immediately as the national carmaker passes operational savings on to customers.
The largest price reduction applies to the Axia 1.0G, which is now priced at RM33,900 in Peninsular Malaysia, down from RM38,600.
In Sabah and Sarawak, the same variant now costs RM35,900, compared with its previous price of RM40,600.
The Axia 1.0X is now priced at RM38,500 in Peninsular Malaysia and RM40,500 in Sabah and Sarawak.
Meanwhile, the Axia 1.0SE is now available at RM43,000 in Peninsular Malaysia and RM45,000 in East Malaysia.
The range-topping Axia 1.0AV receives a RM500 price reduction, bringing its price to RM49,000 in Peninsular Malaysia and RM51,000 in Sabah and Sarawak.
Operational savings passed on to customers
Perodua president and chief executive officer Zainal Abidin Ahmad said the price revision is part of the company’s ongoing efforts to help ease the financial burden faced by Malaysians.
‘This price revision forms part of our ongoing efforts to ease the cost pressures currently faced by Malaysians,’ he said.
He added that the lower prices were made possible through improved operational efficiency, which has also contributed to reduced service costs as well as revised pricing for the QV-E and Battery as a Service offerings.
Vehicle specifications remain unchanged
Perodua said the Axia’s specifications and quality remain unchanged despite the lower prices.
The company said the savings were achieved entirely through improvements in operational processes developed together with local suppliers and partners within the automotive ecosystem.
All revised prices take effect immediately and exclude insurance costs.
