Former PKR deputy president and Pandan MP Rafizi Ramli revealed that his wife received two threatening text messages early this morning, just a day after his 12-year-old son was attacked by two men wielding a syringe at a Putrajaya shopping mall.
According to Rafizi, the first message arrived at 1.12am from an unknown number, reading: “Be quiet. If you continue, AIDS.” The second message, received at 11.02am, carried the same text along with three syringe emojis.
Rafizi said he suspected the threats were linked to a scandal he was investigating, adding that he had met with a group of whistleblowers just last week.
“In my view, this is an attempt to silence me and push me to drop the case. I have given this information to the police, and they already have the phone number,” Rafizi said.
The attack on Rafizi’s son took place at around 2pm yesterday when two men, dressed in black with full-face helmets, followed his wife’s car on a motorcycle before dragging his son and stabbing him with a syringe. The boy was rushed to hospital for treatment and checks, while the assailants escaped.
