A 16-year-old female student at SMK Bandar Utama 4 in Kuala Lumpur was killed after she was allegedly stabbed by a male student this morning.
The incident occurred around 9.30am. The suspect, a Form Two student, reportedly armed with a knife, continued stabbing other students as well.
Inspector-General of Police Khalid Ismail said the 14-year-old boy has been arrested.
“The victim died at the scene. The stabbing happened right outside a classroom,” he told reporters.
Police remain at the school to investigate. The motive is unclear at this stage. The school is fully cooperating, and officers will review all evidence, including possible witness accounts and recordings. An autopsy will be conducted to determine the exact cause of death.
In a new development, the Ministry of Education will hold a special press conference at 5pm today at its Putrajaya headquarters, led by Director-General of Education Dr Mohd Azam Ahmad, to address the incident and immediate safety measures.
