A luxury Richard Mille RM 40-01 McLaren Speedtail watch, worth an estimated RM3 million, stolen from the residence of Indonesian politician Ahmad Sahroni, has been returned after a video of the item went viral online.
The looting occurred last Saturday at Sahroni’s home on Jalan Swasembada Timur XXII, Kebon Bawang, Tanjung Priok, North Jakarta.
Among the stolen goods was the limited-edition black Richard Mille wristwatch. Soon after, a video showing a teenager holding the watch circulated widely on social media.
On Monday, the timepiece was returned by the teenager’s mother, accompanied by local community leaders and neighbourhood heads, according to Tribune-Timur.com.
She reportedly told her son the watch was not theirs and expressed regret, saying: “The watch is not our right.”
The handover was also highlighted on Instagram by @bedesau_nusantara, which praised the parents for making the right decision.
