The Home Ministry and Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) have announced a 50% discount on traffic summonses for a 17-day period from August 31 to September 16, coinciding with the 68th National Day and 62nd Malaysia Day celebrations.
The initiative, aimed at easing the financial burden on citizens, is exclusively available for payments made through the PDRM MyBayar application using the MyDigital ID login.
The Home Ministry emphasized that this discount is part of the government’s broader push to enhance digital services while offering the public a convenient, secure, and efficient way to settle outstanding traffic fines. “This initiative reflects the government’s commitment to advancing the nation’s digitalization agenda and prioritizing public well-being, in line with the spirit of independence and Malaysia’s progress,” the ministry stated.
The MyDigital ID platform, highlighted as a secure and legitimate digital identity verification system, ensures safer transactions by reducing risks of identity fraud and misuse of personal information. The ministry encouraged all citizens to take advantage of this limited-time offer to clear their traffic summonses.
Home Minister Saifuddin Nasution Ismail underscored the dual purpose of the initiative, noting that it celebrates Malaysia’s achievements while delivering tangible benefits to the public. “This summons reduction symbolizes the government’s appreciation for Malaysians and promotes the adoption of our national digital identity as a cornerstone of public service transformation,” he said.
