Health Minister Dzulkefly Ahmad announced that 156 government health clinics nationwide are now equipped with a cloud-based clinic management system (CCMS), enabling 70% of patients to be served within 30 minutes. This achievement is part of the ministry’s ongoing artificial intelligence (AI)-driven digital reform.
He revealed that Phase 1 of the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system has been completed, covering 5 million prescriptions, 20 million vaccination records and 1 million dental records.
Dzulkefly added that MySejahtera has evolved into a preventive health gateway and a national digital health portal.
“We are pleased to announce that the Ministry of Health and Google are exploring strategic cooperation to use AI in addressing major health challenges. This is a major step towards making Malaysia a regional leader in AI-powered digital healthcare,” he said.
As ASEAN Chair in 2025, Malaysia is committed to driving regional cooperation on health data governance, ethical use of AI and cross-border digital capacity building.
Dzulkefly made these remarks while officiating at the Asia Precision Public Health Conference 2025, which gathered over 500 delegates from across the region, eight technology exhibitors and regional health leaders to share visions for building a data-driven, personalized, people-centered health system.
“Precision Public Health is no longer a future concept. It is being implemented in Malaysia and will be a cornerstone for a more sustainable, equitable and competitive healthcare system,” he added.
