Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim told Parliament that police must act against those who waved the Israeli flag at a recent programme in Kelantan.
Speaking during the Minister’s Question Time in the Dewan Rakyat, he cited a previous case of a driver who displayed Hebrew stickers on his vehicle, saying it offended public sentiment and contravened national policy, prompting police action.
“Under our national stance, raising the (Israeli) flag, whatever the purpose, is wrong. I agree that police should take appropriate action,” he said, likening it to flying a colonial flag which would be seen as betrayal.
