Perikatan Nasional’s Padang Serai MP Azman Nasrudin confirmed today that he will be charged in the Shah Alam Sessions Court on Monday over a Kedah cattle-farming joint venture.
He was arrested by the MACC yesterday after his statement was recorded in Kuala Lumpur.
Azman described the move as carrying elements of political influence.
From Witness to Accused
Azman said he had only been called as a witness in March to assist investigations into the Kedah Agro project. His status changed abruptly when MACC officers contacted him yesterday and informed him of the impending charge.
He believes the case may be linked to recent TikTok comments he made about the prime minister’s parliamentary replies on corruption issues.
RM400,000 Allegation Surfaces
An MACC source earlier revealed that an MP is alleged to have received around RM400,000 to help secure land-use rights for a feedlot project in Kedah.
Statements have been recorded from 15 witnesses since a complaint was lodged in February. Azman said he is ready to face all allegations in court.
