Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim today received a courtesy visit from United States Trade Representative Jamieson Greer and his delegation, emphasizing the need to finalize the ongoing reciprocal trade agreement between Malaysia and the United States.
In a Facebook post, Anwar highlighted the significance of concluding the trade agreement, noting that it would provide clarity for policy direction and business planning in both nations.
“As a trading nation with an open economy, Malaysia is committed to fostering strong relations with all its partners, which supports sustainable domestic economic growth,” he stated.
The meeting, held on the sidelines of the 57th ASEAN Economic Ministers’ Meeting and Related Meetings, also facilitated an exchange of views on the strategic trade relationship between Malaysia and the US, as well as within the broader ASEAN framework.
