PAS vice-president and Perak commissioner Ustaz Idris Ahmad said the DAP “fears” a united Perak electorate that could block the party from forming the state government.
He added that DAP leader Nga Kor Ming is entitled to speak against the so-called “green wave”, but using the label is “meant to frighten the public”.
In a social media post, Idris said voters are now more aware “who truly speaks for the people and the nation, and who hides behind false slogans”.
He claimed Umno grassroots within the current “unity government” have “seen through” DAP.
Arguing DAP cannot govern Perak without Malay support, he said the party’s 18 seats are already at the “maximum” in non-Malay areas. To reach the 30-seat threshold to form the government, DAP would need “at least 12 more Malay-majority seats”, which he deemed “impossible” if voters remain united “under the banner of Islam and the true struggle”.
He cited the 59-seat Perak assembly composition: Barisan Nasional – 9 (Umno 8, MCA 1); Perikatan Nasional – 26 (PAS 17, Bersatu 9); Pakatan Harapan – 24 (PKR 5, DAP 18, Amanah 1).
Thanking Umno–BN for rejecting the RUU URA (urban renewal) bill, he quipped “DAP hasn’t changed; perhaps Umno is the one collapsing”.
Idris vowed PAS and PN would ensure DAP “has no chance” to govern Perak or Malaysia in GE16, alleging DAP talked integrity and cost-of-living issues before taking power, but “fell silent” after.
Earlier, local media reported Nga welcoming Perak Umno’s cooperation with PH for GE16, saying the BN–PH partnership would strengthen political stability and deliver a bigger win in Perak, while urging voters to reject the “green wave” and back unity government candidates.
