Parti Solidariti Tanah Airku (STAR) presidentDr Jeffrey Kitingan says the party will “reset” its direction and revive the “Sabah for Sabahan” and “Justice for Sabah” movement following the exit of five assemblymen, adding that STAR will not block the defectors and will let voters decide.
Speaking at Kota Kinabalu International Airport on Tuesday, Jeffrey said STAR’s leadership will meet on Wednesday to finalise the defectors’ status and name replacements, stressing the party will field “young, loyal fighters” in their place.
He said STAR’s fight will be driven by public sentiment, not alliances, and confirmed the party will contest 33 seats in the coming state election.
Jeffrey reaffirmed STAR’s partnership with the Sabah Progressive Party (SAPP) and signalled openness to work with other local parties for unity, citing Sarawak as an example.
“How long will Sabah be ruled and divided? We must make a stand. Enough is enough,” he said.
